Let Us Explain

Our Methods

Specialists in nutrigenomics

Some biochemicals in food directly alter gene expression. Examples of this include resveratrol, the anti-ageing compound found in the skin of red grapes, and genistein, which is found in soy beans. A SNP (single-nucleotide polymorphism) is a DNA sequence variation, and these account for 90% of all human genetic variation. SNPs are involved in the basic maintenance of cells, and are assumed to alter the risk of developing a disease. Your DNA results will list all the SNPs which have been the subject of evidence-based research.

Tailored health strategies

The results allow your naturopath to tailor your health plan more specifically to meet your individual needs. Nutrigenomics is a growing area of research and is giving us much more insight about how to formulate personalised health plans. Any recommendations will encompass lifestyle factors, diet advice, and specific nutritional supplements or herbal support.

Questions

FAQ

Questions about Women’s Health
How long does a consult go for?
Our initial consultations are approximately 1 hour in length and include a thorough case history assessment as well as live blood testing and iris diagnosis so we can best understand the cause of your health concerns and create an effective treatment plan.
Is naturopathic care safe for my baby?
Naturopathic treatment is very helpful for pregnant women and all treatment is tailored to ensure that your baby is not at risk of harm.
How often should I see a naturopath?
It varies depending on the severity of your condition but normally we recommend regular checkups every 2 - 4 weeks while undergoing treatment.
Do you do in-house testing?
Yes, we do. We provide complete functional laboratory testing which gives us a deeper insight into the underlying causes of your health concerns. Results are sent to your naturopath for interpretation, and are used to develop a focussed treatment strategy.
How long does it take to see results?
Normally test results can be provided during the initial consult. Other testing may take 7 days before results can be given.
